Picasso en Mis Ojos – Diego ‘El Cigala’
“Picasso en mis ojos” is a real luxury. It is the fifth solo album by Diego El Cigala, bred singer praised for his gypsy voice. Is dedicated to Picasso (Málaga, 1881-Mougins 1973), the great genius of contemporary painting and the creator of Cubism.
And is that Diego El Cigala is accompanied by the guitars of Paco de Lucia, Tomatito, Raimundo Amador, Josemi Carmona Morao Diego, Manuel Parrilla and Package. Jerry Gonzalez blows his trumpet and put their touches other great artists like Ramón El Portugués, Yumitus, Porrina, Juañares o Piranha.
In literature, current poets and contemporary of Picasso have also made a contribution: Rafael Alberti, Javier Ruibal, Javier Krahe, Carlos Chaouen and Juan Antonio Salazar.
The spirit Picassian flamenco and merge in all the tracks on the album, starting with “Chanelando”, tangos with guitar playing by the Morao Diego and Manuel Parrilla. Paco’s guitar and voice of El Cigala are the absolute protagonists of “By the rivers” (bulerias), the famous poem “La Paloma” by R. Alberti becomes music through Josemi Carmona.
The disc also features soleá ( “Watercolor” with lyrics by Chaouen), joys and mirabrás ( “Malagueño” with lyrics by Javier Rubial), Latin rumba with Raimundo Amador’s guitar ( “Apenao”) and tango ( “Guernika “).
